Back At It!

Hellllooooo!!!

I hope your morning is off to a good start! I have been MIA for the whole month of February. It was not my plan. However, if you do not plan, you plan to fail. This was definitely the case for last month and the first part of this month. Have you felt that way before?

I had ideas of what I wanted to blog about but never developed action steps for them. My birthday was last month. Cheers to the Golden BDay (27 on the 27th), and I had a goal of celebrating every weekend that month. I achieved my goal, but it was rough. While celebrating, I had so much going on between school, research, and just LIFE. I’m sure you have been in a place where you want to focus on constant happiness, but the job of balancing all of your responsibilities in life kind of knocks you off course. If not, then brace yourself, it is coming!

Even with the trials and tribulations, there was plenty of joy and self-reflection. I did not come out of the month physically or mentally renewed, I actually think I am more off course than before. However, one important thing happened, I found my WILL again. Willpower is something that pushes you through the dark, foggy days to the clear and bright days. Self-reflection gave me an opportunity to reflect on where I was as a person and how I got there. It also helped me envision where I wanted to go and how to get there. As you can see it took me over a month to even get that far, so don’t rush the process. I honestly still have a lot more reflecting to do.

However, I want to start by challenging myself to post daily about my reflections on life. I don’t know about you, but I have a hard time voicing my opinion. I guess that’s the compassion in me. I think of others a lot more than myself, and that helps with my career in nursing, but is not conducive to a healthy work-life balance. I honestly think it feels good to know someone is battling with some of the same thoughts you are or going through similar situations. Join me on this quest towards a better understanding of self and the ability to express myself openly and truthfully.

Love,
