Availability. It is something that is very limited in many of our lives. It is sad that we barely find time to eat between activities. So thinking about exercise and self-care fall to the bottom of a long list. For many, there is limited if any time to spend with God because we are so caught up in a mix of what He blessed us with and what we have taken on without His permission. With so much on our plate, it is easy to get to a point where you “suddenly” are in a panic a lot, gaining or losing weight, losing your appetite, crying, or having an emotional outburst. You may think that it was something that came out of nowhere, but it has been gradually happening the whole time. We have left no availability for our bodies to rest and now it wants to drop out of the game. We made no availability for mental rest so now we forget our keys or can’t remember the basics of our careers. We have left no availability for spiritual advancement, and now it seems that the enemy is hitting us harder than before.

Deuteronomy 28:1-6 states ” If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God: You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country. The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks. Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed. You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out. Wow! This verse reveals the amazing blessings God has for us. However, we have to choose to be available to hear God’s word to receive these blessings. I encourage you to look at your schedule and see where you can eliminate activities and pencil in time with God. Once you spend that time with Him, He will direct you on other places you can decrease and build in self-care.

Today’s Prayer

God, thank you for waking me this morning. Lord, right now I am available to you. Lord, I ask that you speak to me about my agenda for today and what plans and purposes you have for my life. Lord, I am listening.

*sit in quietness, Listen to Him*

Thank You, Lord

Peace, Love, Joy, and Abundant Blessings,
