Speak in Faith

This is the first Faith post, and warning most of these will be somewhat long. The reason for this is because I value the word of God, and I want to express as much as I can.

Recently, I have embarked on a journey of cleaning my mind and mouth. What I mean by that is structuring the way I think and speak, and insuring that it is constantly positive. Whether you know it or not we have a lot of control over our current and future situations with what we speak and think about.

I wrote a post about what it takes to achieve your dreams. However, there is also a spiritual component about not only accomplishing your goals but also fulfilling the purpose God has for you. Therefore, in this post, I will discuss times when the Bible mentions the effect of speaking positive words over your life and situation; and also, about the definition of faith and what it really is.

I am first going to discuss a passage in the book of Matthew Chapter 21: 18-22, that is titled “The Fig Tree Withers.” This passage tells the story of Jesus traveling and becoming hungry. He looked to a fig tree that was not bearing fruit, and said, “May you never bear fruit again!” The tree then instantly died and withered. Wow! There is so much to be seen this passage; however, I want to focus on the power of Jesus just speaking and something occurring. Now I know some of you may be thinking to yourselves, that’s Jesus he has a power that I do not have. Just wait, further, in the passage, he turns to His disciples and tells them that they also have the ability to do what he just did. He said” I tell you the truth if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, Go, throw yourself into the sea, and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” Wow! This part of the passage just blew me away, because Jesus said right there that through prayer we have the ability to move things that are immovable, such as a mountain or the hurdles you have been facing in life. Things that others would deem as unconquerable. We have the ability to speak blessings exceedingly and abundantly in our lives. However, we must not forget the disclaimer we were given; it says ” if you have faith and do not doubt” We must not doubt what the Lord has in store for us, we must not doubt that this situation is no longer a situation; we must not doubt that we are already blessed. Also, most importantly we must have FAITH!

Faith, that brings us to our next passage. This one is seen in Hebrews chapter 11. In verse 1, Faith is defined as being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” Some people simply define faith as believing in the unseen. Which can be exemplified through someone believing that they will receive a job even though they have yet to have an interview. This chapter even goes further to explain how many characters of the Bible including Abraham, Enoch, Abel, and even God used faith to accomplish some of the biggest events seen in the Bible and in this universe. Not only do we need to speak things into existence we must have faith that whatever we speak will be accomplished. We should have no need to doubt because there are clear examples of how powerful having faith can be. 2 Corinthians 4: 18 says that we should “fix our eyes not what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” If we incorporate what was said in these verses with the meaning of faith, we will see that faith is something that is eternal and everlasting. If we continue to have faith that our situation is only a piece of the plan that God has in store for us, then hopefully we can find the strength to keep moving through the hard times knowing that greater is already here.

I hope this message will help you through whatever difficult times you are currently going through. I hope you also make the decision to make changes in your life for the better. God has so much in store for you, and He wants you to have it. Your storage is overflowing with blessings, with the lid closed. So imagine how it will be when He opens the door. Remember to keep the faith and speak positive about everything, even if you have a few doubts, because being positive will push those doubts away.
